Consultations
Aesthetics consultations in Margate
Every treatment at SM Aesthetics Clinic starts with a conversation. All treatments requiring a prescription only proceed after a one-to-one consultation with a registered prescriber. This page explains how that works, so you know what to expect before you book.
Which consultation do I need?

Prescriber consultation
For treatments that need a prescription. You have a one-to-one consultation with a registered prescriber, who reviews your medical history and decides whether a prescription treatment is suitable for you.
Booked separately. The fee is shown when you book online.
How a prescriber assessment works
- Book a consultationChoose the consultation that matches what you would like to talk about. If you are not sure, book the aesthetics consultation and Sian will advise.
- Tell us about your healthYou will be asked about your medical history, medication, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and previous treatments, so your suitability can be assessed properly.
- Meet the registered prescriberFor treatments that need a prescription, a registered prescriber assesses you. The clinic’s prescribing partner is Dorota Jaworska of DJ Clinic in Folkestone, an NMC-registered nurse and midwife with a Nurse Independent / Supplementary Prescriber qualification. This is a clinical decision made for you individually. Not everyone is suitable, and you will be told honestly if a treatment is not right for you.
- Prescription issued, if appropriateOnly if the prescriber decides it is suitable will a prescription be issued for you. The prescription needs to be delivered to the clinic, so there is a short wait before your treatment can be booked.
- Your appointmentOnce your prescription is in place, you can book your treatment. Clear aftercare guidance and a follow-up review are discussed with you.
Good to know
- A consultation does not commit you to treatment. There is no pressure to go ahead.
- If you have not had a consultation with us within the last 6 months, you will need a new one before a treatment that requires a prescriber.
- Please bring a list of your medication and any medical conditions.
- Prescription treatments can only be provided following a consultation, and only where the prescriber considers them suitable.
- Individual results vary, and we aim to manage expectations realistically.
- Treatments are never provided on the same day as your first prescriber assessment, because the prescription has to be issued and delivered first.
