The clinical portfolio: safety first, quality throughout

Unregulated and counterfeit aesthetic products are a growing problem in the UK, and a low price can come at the cost of your safety. This page sets out exactly which products and tools Sian uses, and why.

Why the product matters

Counterfeit and unregulated injectables have been linked to infections, lumps and poor results, and every injectable treatment carries some risk, including rare but serious complications. Who treats you matters, and so does what they use.

At SM Aesthetics Clinic, Sian works with complete transparency about what goes into your skin. The dermal fillers, skin boosters and polynucleotides she uses are regulated medical devices that carry a CE or UKCA mark, and the product and batch number are recorded in your notes so every treatment can be traced. From the consistency of a hyaluronic acid gel to the gauge of the needle, each choice is made for safety and for natural-looking results.

The tools of precision

Fine needles and blunt-tipped cannulas

Even the best product depends on careful technique. Sian uses fine, single-use medical needles and, where the area suits it, blunt-tipped cannulas. A cannula can move through tissue with fewer entry points, which can help reduce bruising and swelling, while a fine needle allows precise placement in small areas. Which one is used is decided for each area at your appointment.

Skin qualitySkin boosters & polynucleotides

Rather than adding volume, these treatments aim to improve hydration, texture, firmness and elasticity. Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments used to support the skin’s own repair. Results build gradually, usually over a course of sessions, and vary from person to person.

Prescriber-ledPrescription treatments

Some treatments use prescription-only medicines. UK law does not allow these medicines to be advertised, so we do not name or price them on this website. If one may suit you, it is discussed at your consultation and only goes ahead after a one-to-one assessment with our prescribing partner, Dorota Jaworska of DJ Clinic in Folkestone, an NMC-registered nurse prescriber. A prescription is issued only when it is appropriate for you.
