Professional skincare selected for your skin
Sian uses CLINICCARE professional skincare in her facial treatments. The products and steps used are chosen around your skin, sensitivities and the facial you have booked.
Tell Sian about your current skincare, allergies and recent treatments before your appointment. Ask which products will be used, whether any active ingredients need special aftercare, and when to resume your usual routine. A professional product range does not mean every product is appropriate for every skin type.
Before you decide
Discuss your skin, sensitivities, medications and recent treatments. Dermaplaning removes surface hair and exfoliates with a blade; irritation and small cuts are possible. Extractions may cause temporary redness or discomfort. Active irritation or infection may mean a treatment needs to be postponed.
Your appointment & aftercare
Sian will explain the selected treatment, discuss suitability and give aftercare guidance. Ask about products to use or avoid and when you can resume your usual routine. Results and recovery vary.
Under the supplied clinic policy, non-invasive facials are available from age 16; other treatments are for adults aged 18 or over. Confirm suitability with the clinic before booking.
Which facial might suit your skin?
The best starting point is your skin today, rather than the longest treatment menu. A facial may suit someone seeking cleansing, a smoother surface feel or time to review their routine. Explain whether your concern is congestion, dryness, sensitivity or unwanted fine facial hair. The clinic offers dermaplaning, steam and extraction, and a combined option; suitability should guide the choice.
A cosmetic facial is not a diagnosis or treatment plan for a persistent skin disease. If you have a rash, a changing mark or painful ongoing acne, seek appropriate medical advice. Tell Sian about recent procedures, medicines and products that cause stinging or irritation, even if you have used them for a long time.
What is dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning uses a blade to remove fine surface hair and exfoliate the outer skin surface. It may leave skin feeling smoother, but hair removal is temporary and it does not permanently change facial hair growth. Ask what level of exfoliation is planned and whether your skin is suitable before combining it with other treatments.
Active acne, cold sores or irritated skin may make dermaplaning inappropriate. Possible effects include redness and sensitivity; cuts, infection and pigment changes are also considerations. A treatment that feels gentle still needs care and suitable technique. Do not use a home blade on irritated skin in an attempt to extend the result.
What happens at a facial appointment?
An appointment should begin with discussion of your skin, preferences and routine. Bring the names of products you use if you are unsure what they contain. Ask which steps are proposed, whether extraction is suitable and how the treatment will be adapted if your skin is sensitive. You should know the price and intended approach before treatment starts.
Cleansing and the agreed treatment steps follow the assessment. Steam and extraction are different from dermaplaning, so a combined facial is not automatically the best choice for everyone. Tell Sian if a product stings or a step becomes uncomfortable. You can ask for a pause or a simpler approach rather than feeling that every stage must be completed.
Recovery and everyday plans
Temporary redness or sensitivity can occur, particularly after exfoliation or extraction. Some people can return to their routine quickly, while others need more time. Ask what to expect for the selected facial rather than assuming that all facials have identical recovery. If you have a special occasion, discuss timing before booking.
A fresh smooth feeling does not mean your skin is ready for another exfoliation. Give it the recovery time advised. Increasing pain, spreading redness or signs of infection should be assessed, rather than covered with makeup. If a reaction develops at home, keep a note of the products used and contact the clinic or an appropriate healthcare professional.
Results, aftercare and longer-term skin care
A facial can be part of a skin care routine, but it cannot guarantee permanently clear skin, remove every pore or replace medical treatment. Agree a modest, specific aim and judge the result once any immediate redness has settled. Ask what difference the selected treatment may make and what it is unlikely to change.
Aftercare depends on the treatment and your skin. Ask about gentle cleansing, moisturiser, sun protection and when to restart makeup, retinoids or exfoliating acids. Avoid adding several new active products at once just because your skin feels smoother. Before arranging repeat appointments, review whether the treatment met your aim and whether a simpler routine would be more useful.

Your questions
Treatment FAQs
Which facial should I choose?
Discuss your skin, sensitivities, routine and preferences with Sian. The clinic offers dermaplaning, steam and extraction, and a combined option. An assessment helps determine suitability.
How much are facials?
The supplied clinic list prices dermaplaning and deep cleanse facials at £40 each and the combined facial at £60. Confirm the current price when booking.
Can I have a facial if my skin is irritated?
Tell Sian about active irritation, infection, recent procedures and medications. Treatment may need to be adapted or postponed after an assessment.
Is dermaplaning permanent hair removal?
No. Dermaplaning removes surface hair temporarily; it does not permanently remove hair or change its growth. Discuss suitability if your skin is irritated or you have active acne.
Should I exfoliate straight after a facial?
Ask for treatment-specific advice before restarting exfoliating acids, retinoids or scrubs. Skin may be sensitive after dermaplaning or extraction, so immediately adding more exfoliation can be inappropriate.
Which skincare range does Sian use for facials?
Sian uses CLINICCARE professional skincare, with products and treatment steps selected around your skin, sensitivities and chosen facial.
