What you can discuss

Eyebrow techniques

Sian offers microblading, nano brows, combination brows and ombré or powder brows. The starting point is your existing brows, skin, preferences and any previous pigment, rather than a technique chosen from a photograph alone.

  • Microblading: a hair-stroke approach to eyebrow definition.
  • Nano brows: fine hair-stroke detail, with the technique and suitability explained at consultation.
  • Combination brows: hair-stroke detail combined with shading.
  • Ombré and powder brows: a shaded finish, with shape and depth of colour agreed with you.

Ask which approach is appropriate for your skin and how the healed appearance may differ from the fresh result. Existing cosmetic tattooing may affect the options; explain when it was done and whether you have had removal or correction.

Lip blush, sheer lips and ombré lips

Lip blush focuses on colour and definition. Sheer lips provide a softer colour effect, while ombré lips use a graduated colour approach. These are colour treatments, rather than treatments intended to increase lip volume. Your natural lip tone, preferred finish and previous treatments guide the discussion.

Before treatment, Sian discusses the proposed shape and colour with you. Tell her about any history of cold sores, allergies or previous pigment. Healing can temporarily affect colour and comfort; follow the individual aftercare advice and judge the result at the agreed review stage. A particular technique or shade is not a promise of an identical result for every person.

Your consultation

We discuss the look you want, your skin and your lifestyle, and agree shape and colour together before any treatment begins.

Good to know

Who might consider brows or lip blush?

Semi-permanent makeup may appeal to adults who want more defined brows or a softer tint and outline to their lips. It is a cosmetic tattoo, so the decision deserves more thought than choosing everyday makeup. The aim can be subtle, but pigment placement still changes your appearance. A consultation helps establish whether your skin, existing colour and preferences make treatment appropriate.

Bring examples of your usual makeup and explain what you prefer on days when you wear none. Shape, tone and intensity should work with your features and your expectations. Existing cosmetic tattooing needs individual assessment; adding more pigment is not always a suitable way to correct a previous result.

Preparing for your appointment

Tell Sian about allergies, medicines, skin conditions, past pigment reactions and any previous brow or lip tattooing. For lip blush, mention any history of cold sores so appropriate advice can be considered. Do not stop prescribed medicines yourself or use another person’s medication as preparation. The clinic’s existing policy requires a patch test at least 48 hours before treatment.

A patch test does not guarantee that no reaction will occur. Ask whether any additional assessment is needed and what would mean postponing the appointment. Check the total price, whether a follow-up is included and how colour boosts are charged. Allow time to make the decision without an event deadline driving it.

What happens during cosmetic tattooing?

Before treatment, the intended shape and colour should be discussed and agreed. Ask to see the design clearly and take time to check it; you do not have to accept a shape just because it has been drawn. Eyebrow mapping and lip colour choices are parts of a personal plan rather than a template that suits everyone.

Pigment is introduced into the skin with a cosmetic tattooing technique. Ask how discomfort is managed, how long your appointment is likely to take and what breaks are possible. Aftercare should explain the healing stages and how to contact the clinic if something does not feel right. Consent for treatment and consent for public use of photographs are separate choices.

Healing and colour changes

The colour immediately after treatment may look stronger than the final appearance. Tenderness, swelling and changes at the skin surface may occur while healing. Later, colour can appear lighter or less even. The sequence and duration differ between people, techniques and areas, so ask for the timeline for your specific treatment.

Do not pick or pull at healing skin. Follow instructions on cleansing, products, water exposure, exercise and makeup near the treated area. A follow-up should assess healed skin rather than simply judging the fresh colour. Contact the clinic if redness, pain or swelling is increasing, or if there is discharge or another concern.

Results, limitations and longer-term care

Cosmetic tattooing is not guaranteed to fade completely. Pigment may persist, change tone or require further assessment if you later want a different look. Skin type, sun exposure, existing pigment and aftercare affect retention. Ask how the proposed colour and shape might look as they soften, and what a future colour boost would involve.

Risks include infection, allergic reactions, scarring and an unwanted pigment result. Removing or correcting a tattoo can be difficult and may need specialist advice. Do not book on the assumption that an unsatisfactory result can easily be erased. Review healed examples, discuss the timing of photographs and make sure you understand both the everyday aftercare and the longer-term commitment.

Your questions

Treatment FAQs

Do I need a patch test?

Under the supplied clinic policy, a patch test is carried out at least 48 hours before treatment. Tell Sian about allergies, medications and previous cosmetic tattoos. A patch test cannot rule out every reaction.

Will the colour look the same after healing?

Colour and retention can change during healing and differ between people. Ask Sian about the likely healing stages, aftercare and whether a follow-up appointment is needed.

Can I book if I already have cosmetic tattooing?

A consultation is required if you have had semi-permanent makeup before. Existing pigment, skin condition and your goals need to be assessed before a plan is agreed.

Does semi-permanent makeup always disappear?

No. Cosmetic tattoo pigment may persist or change tone. Fading is variable and complete disappearance is not guaranteed. Discuss maintenance and the difficulty of correction before treatment.

Can I have lip blush if I get cold sores?

Tell Sian about any history of cold sores before booking. Suitability and any appropriate medical advice need to be considered in advance; do not start medication without guidance from a qualified prescriber.

Which eyebrow treatments does Sian offer?

Sian offers microblading, nano brows, combination brows and ombré or powder brows. The approach is discussed around your skin, existing brows, previous pigment and preferred healed finish.

What lip-colour treatments are available?

Lip blush, sheer lips and ombré lips are available for discussion. These focus on colour and definition rather than increasing lip volume. Suitability, colour and aftercare are discussed before treatment.
