Dermal fillers in Margate
Dermal fillers are gel-based treatments used to enhance definition, shape and facial balance. At SM Aesthetics Clinic, each plan is personalised to you and aims for a natural, balanced look.
Dermal filler appointments take place at our Margate clinic, welcoming clients from Broadstairs, Ramsgate and across Thanet. Plan your visit to the clinic.

Swelling and bruising are possible. Discuss recovery for your treatment area.

What you can discuss
- Lips: definition, shape and balance
- Cheeks and mid-face: contour and support
- Chin and jawline: definition and proportion
- Other areas discussed at your consultation
Our dermal filler product range
Sian’s filler range includes Revolax, Aessoa, STYLAGE and Restylane. The precise product and formulation are selected after assessment of the proposed treatment area, your previous treatments and your goals.
Ask which product is proposed and why, whether it contains an anaesthetic, and how its risks and expected duration relate to your individual plan. Different formulations have different properties; brand names alone do not tell you which is suitable. Availability and the full treatment cost are confirmed before you decide.

Who might consider dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers may be an option for adults who would like to discuss lip definition, facial proportion or changes in volume. The starting point is the feature that concerns you, rather than a predetermined quantity of product. A consultation can help separate changes that filler may address from concerns that need a different approach. Enhancing your natural features should never mean changing who you are.
Bring examples of the look you prefer, but treat photographs as a conversation starter rather than a promise. Different faces have different proportions. Explain what you would like to keep as well as what you would like to enhance, and ask whether a smaller change, a staged plan or no treatment would better match your priorities.
What happens at the appointment?
Before any injections, your goals, medical history and previous treatments need to be reviewed. Tell Sian where and when you have previously had filler, even if you think it has worn off. Ask for the proposed product name, treatment area, quantity, full price and follow-up arrangements. You should understand the plan and have time to ask questions before giving consent.
Filler is placed using an injection technique selected for the area and individual plan. Ask how discomfort is managed and what sensations to expect. Appointment length depends on the assessment and treatment involved; allow time for the consultation and aftercare discussion rather than treating this as a quick purchase. You can ask to pause if you need more explanation.
Recovery: what should you plan for?
Immediately afterwards, the appearance may be affected by swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising. An early photograph is not a reliable picture of the settled result. Over the following days, changes in swelling can also make the area look uneven. Ask when your particular treatment should be reviewed, and do not arrange an important event on the assumption that recovery will be invisible.
Recovery depends on the product, area, technique and your own response. Discuss work, exercise, travel and any upcoming occasion before booking. If something is getting worse, do not simply wait for a suggested review date. The clinic should explain how to distinguish expected effects from symptoms that need urgent attention.
Realistic results and maintenance
Filler can change shape or definition, but it cannot make two faces identical or guarantee perfect symmetry. Natural facial asymmetry may remain. Discuss what success would mean for you: a clearer lip border, a subtle change in proportion or a more balanced profile. Agree a realistic aim before deciding on the treatment.
How long an effect lasts depends on the filler and treatment area. Ask about the expected duration for the specific plan rather than relying on a universal number. Additional treatment is a separate decision, with its own risks and costs. If you are considering correction or dissolving, ask for an assessment; neither should be treated as an automatic or risk-free solution.
Aftercare and when to get help
Follow the written instructions provided for your treatment. Ask about touching or massaging the area, makeup, exercise and heat exposure, and when each can be resumed. Do not stop prescribed medicines or start a new product to manage bruising without advice from an appropriate healthcare professional. Keep the clinic’s contact details and the product information available.
Severe or increasing pain, unusual pale or dusky skin changes, or rapidly worsening symptoms after filler need urgent assessment. Sudden visual changes are an emergency: call 999 or seek emergency care immediately rather than waiting for a message reply. Ask before treatment who provides urgent support and how to contact them outside normal appointment hours.

Your questions
Treatment FAQs
How do I know if dermal fillers are right for me?
Book a consultation to discuss your goals, medical history and previous treatments. Suitability depends on the treatment area and your circumstances. You may be advised to consider alternatives or have no treatment.
What does the guide price include?
The supplied price list starts at £140. The final cost depends on your individual treatment plan. Ask about the product, quantity, any review appointments and additional costs before deciding.
How soon can I return to my usual routine?
Recovery varies. Discuss work, exercise and upcoming events at your consultation and follow your individual aftercare guidance. Do not assume that you will have no visible swelling or bruising.
When should I judge my filler results?
Wait for the settling period agreed for your product and treatment area. Initial swelling can affect shape and symmetry. Ask when a review is appropriate, and seek earlier assessment if symptoms are worsening.
Can I have filler just before an event?
Discuss the date before booking. Visible swelling and bruising are possible, and recovery differs between people. Leave the recovery margin advised for your treatment rather than expecting an immediate settled result.
Which dermal filler brands does Sian use?
The range includes Revolax, Aessoa, STYLAGE and Restylane. The specific formulation, availability, suitability and cost are confirmed before treatment.
