Skin boosters & polynucleotides in Margate

Skin boosters and polynucleotides are skin-focused treatments designed to support hydration, skin quality and overall appearance, rather than changing your features.

Visit our Margate clinic for skin booster and polynucleotide consultations, whether you live locally in Thanet or are travelling from Canterbury and elsewhere in East Kent. Plan your visit to the clinic.

Sian completed skin booster and polynucleotide training through VA Clinic in Romford on 11 April 2024. Your consultation includes a discussion of the treatment options, suitability and aftercare. Meet Sian and read about her training.

What you can discuss

Product options discussed at consultation

Sian’s skin-treatment range includes SKINVIVE by Juvéderm, Seventy Hyal, LUMIPRO, Profhilo and Profhilo Structura. Polynucleotide options include VITARAN and LumiPN. Availability and the exact product proposed are confirmed at your consultation.

These names describe different products, not interchangeable treatments. Ask what the proposed product is intended to address, which area would be treated, what evidence supports the plan and what its limitations are. Product choice follows assessment; it should not be based simply on the highest concentration or a claim that one brand is the strongest.

Profhilo and Profhilo Structura

Profhilo and Profhilo Structura are distinct products with different treatment approaches. If your concern is a change in facial appearance after weight loss, explain that history at consultation. Sian can discuss whether the concern relates to skin quality, volume or another change and whether the proposed treatment is appropriate. Neither a product name nor a general description can establish your individual suitability.

Agree the exact product, treatment area, anticipated appointment schedule and total cost before proceeding. Ask when results should be reviewed and how any concerns will be managed. Read our guide to polynucleotides and Profhilo, or see our polynucleotides page.

Good to know

Who might consider a skin-focused injectable?

If your main concern is skin that looks dull, dehydrated or tired, a consultation can help you understand the options. Skin boosters and polynucleotides are not interchangeable labels. The choice should be based on your skin, history and goals, together with the properties and limitations of the proposed product. A treatment aimed at skin appearance will not necessarily provide the definition of a dermal filler.

Explain your existing skincare routine, what you have already tried and whether you want a subtle change or have a specific concern. Persistent inflammation, a rash or an unexplained skin change may need medical assessment instead of a cosmetic treatment. Having a consultation does not commit you to injections or a course.

What is the difference between Profhilo and polynucleotides?

Profhilo is a branded hyaluronic-acid injectable. Polynucleotide products contain nucleotide polymers and have different formulations and treatment protocols. Ask which exact product is proposed and what it is intended to address. A brand name alone does not tell you whether it is appropriate for your skin or what outcome you can reasonably expect.

Research into aesthetic polynucleotides is developing. Published reviews identify promising findings alongside limitations in study quality and consistency. Avoid treating claims of rejuvenation or repair as guaranteed outcomes. Ask what evidence relates to the actual product, area and concern being discussed, and how the benefits compare with the risks and cost.

What happens during treatment?

Your appointment begins with a review of skin concerns, health information and previous procedures. Mention allergies and ask about all ingredients, including the source of a polynucleotide product where relevant. The proposed injection sites, treatment schedule, discomfort management and aftercare should be explained before you consent.

These treatments involve injections rather than a topical facial. The number and placement of injections differ between products and plans. Ask how long to allow for your appointment and whether a series is recommended. You should be able to describe the purpose of the treatment in your own words before deciding to proceed.

Recovery and expected progress

Immediately after treatment, small injection-site bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising may be visible. Their duration varies with the product, treatment area and individual response. Ask what is expected for the treatment you receive and which changes should prompt a call. Do not interpret a swollen appearance as proof of improved skin quality.

Any improvement should be judged after the agreed settling period and, where relevant, after the proposed course. Ask when progress will be assessed, what photographs might help compare changes and whether further appointments are optional. Before an event, allow recovery time and discuss scheduling rather than assuming there will be no visible marks.

Results, risks and aftercare

A skin treatment cannot guarantee a particular glow, reverse every sign of ageing or replace assessment of a skin condition. Decide which change matters most to you and what would count as a worthwhile result. Confirm the full course cost and likely maintenance before starting; the lowest single-session price may not describe the overall commitment.

As with other injections, possible problems include infection and reactions to ingredients, as well as bruising and swelling. Follow product-specific aftercare, including advice on skincare, makeup, exercise and heat. Do not change prescribed medication without professional advice. Increasing redness, pain, warmth or discharge needs prompt assessment. Breathing difficulty or rapidly developing swelling of the face or throat is an emergency: call 999.

Your questions

Treatment FAQs

Are skin boosters and polynucleotides the same?

No. They are different types of injectable skin treatments, with different ingredients and uses. Ask which product is being considered, why it is suitable for you and what evidence supports it.

Will I need a course of treatments?

A course may be discussed, depending on the product and your goals. Ask about the expected number of appointments, total cost, limitations and maintenance before starting.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Skin response and results vary. Your consultation should cover realistic expectations and alternatives, including not having treatment.

Is Profhilo the same as polynucleotides?

No. Profhilo is a branded hyaluronic-acid injectable; polynucleotide products have different ingredients. Ask which product is being proposed, why it suits your concern and what evidence supports that use.

Will injection marks be visible?

Small bumps, redness, swelling or bruising can be visible after treatment. Their duration depends on the product, area and your response. Discuss recovery and important dates before booking.

Which skin-treatment products can I discuss?

The range includes SKINVIVE by Juvéderm, STYLAGE HydroMax, Seventy Hyal, LUMIPRO, Profhilo, Profhilo Structura, VITARAN, Plenhyage and LumiPN. Availability and the exact product appropriate to your assessment are confirmed at consultation.
